Lisa K. Strohman, JD, PhD
Dr. Strohman attended the University of California, Davis where she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Magna Cum Laude. She then completed a joint, integrated program in law and psychology at Villanova and Drexel Universities in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania earning a Juris Doctor in Law, Cum Laude, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology.
During her undergraduate career, Dr. Strohman was a program coordinator with Families for Early Autism Treatment, family reunification therapist, and hospice counselor. As a graduate student, she performed research in substance abuse, risk communication, and child abduction and was a Legislative Intern in the United States House of Representatives and an Honors Intern with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As a pre-doctoral candidate, Dr. Strohman worked with severely mentally ill patients at the Arizona State Hospital and was a Visiting Scholar with the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI’s National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime.
Dr Strohman joined LifeScape as a Psychology Resident in 2007, under the
supervision of Dr Joan Polansky, Ph.D.
Dr. Strohman is the founder of Premiere Consulting Strategies, LLC, a company that provides and coordinates legal, psychological, financial, and career development services to professional athletes and entertainers. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Arizona Bar Association, Arizona Legislative Committee, American Psychology Association, American Psychology-Law Society, and American Sports Psychology Association.
Dr. Strohman’s clinical expertise includes individual and family therapy, depression, anxiety, marital issues, grief and loss. She tailors her approach to the patient’s individual needs and is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy—a form of counseling that can achieve very rapid results by focusing on the “here and now” and actively modifying thought processes to improve one’s emotional state. If desired, Dr. Strohman will work directly with her patient’s primary care provider to offer a more holistic range of treatment options.
Dr. Strohman is a runner and a sports enthusiast. She is married to her high school sweetheart, LifeScape physician Dr. William Strohman. They have a young daughter.
